    About Department

The Department of Civil Engineering came into existence since inception of the college in the year 1980, with an intake of 60 students. The department has been imparting quality education to meet the technological advancement and industrial requirements. The present intake for the undergraduate program is 120 and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belagavi. The department started PG programs under VTU in Structural Engineering in the year 2013 with intake of 18 students. The department is also involved in research and development and is a recognized research centre in year 2014 under VTU. B.E in Civil Engineering program is accredited by NBA for three years in 2005, 2008.

The department has well equipped laboratories like Building Materials Testing (BMT) lab, Geotechnical Engineering lab, Concrete and Highway Engineering lab, Fluid Mechanics lab, Computer Aided Design (CAD) lab where the students are trained to be proficient in various fields of civil engineering.

The Department is involved in R&D work, offers consultancy services and conduct training programmes for industry and government organizations. Students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Industry Institute interaction is nurtured by organizing and coordinating frequent industrial visits, Expert Lectures, Seminars.

Welcome to the department of Civil Engineering. The department works with the objective of addressing critical challenges faced by the Industry, society and the academia. Perhaps even more important is our unceasing commitment to our students, helping them to learn, grow, develop, and achieve their goals in their pursuit to excel in their professional career. The department was established in the year 1980 and since its inception the department has evolved from offering only undergraduate courses to offer post graduate and doctoral programmes in key areas of civil engineering. The department strives to provide a conductive environment for the students to develop analytical and practical skills and apply them to real world problems. To motivate the students the department organizes regular training, workshop, National Conferences periodically. We welcome you to the Department of Civil Engineering as undergraduate or post graduate or research student and we hope to be part of your success.
